Alkaliteit en hardheid zijn twee fundamentele parameters voor het evenwicht van uw water en dus voor de kwaliteit van uw bad. Zij garanderen stabiel water dat de installaties en de baders respecteert.
Parameters die de hardheid en alkaliteit van het water beïnvloeden
In het algemeen gaat het vooral om de pH en het chloorgehalte. Er zijn echter ook andere parameters die een rol spelen bij het goede beheer van uw zwembad of spa.
Alkaliteit, of totaal alkaliteitsgehalte (TAC), is de concentratie van carbonaat- en bicarbonaationen in het water. De alkaliteit van het water fungeert als buffer voor de pH van het water. Als de alkaliteit van het water te laag is, wordt de pH onstabiel. Daarom is het belangrijk deze te controleren.
De hardheid of Hydrotimetrische Titel (TH) wordt bepaald door de concentratie van calcium en magnesium in het water. Als de TH te hoog is, betekent dit dat het water hard is en het filtratiesysteem kan beschadigen, vooral het filter en de leidingen. Omgekeerd kan te zacht water agressief zijn voor de installaties, oppervlakken, verbindingen en leidingen van uw zwembad.

Hoe meet en balanceert u deze parameters?
Deze twee parameters kunnen worden gemeten met behulp van de colorimetrische strips. De waarden voor alkaliteit en hardheid worden uitgedrukt in ppm (parts per million).
De aanbevolen alkaliteit voor zwembadwater ligt tussen 80 en 120 ppm. Om de alkaliteit van uw water te verhogen, moet u TAC+ alkalinity booster toevoegen, hier verkrijgbaar.
De ideale hardheid ligt tussen 250 en 450 ppm. Om de hardheid van uw water te verhogen, moet u TH+ hardheidsversterker toevoegen.
