Chlorine Pool Maintenance Kit – Pools Over 20 m³

The iopool Chlorine Pool Maintenance Kit for pools over 20 m³ brings together five complementary water treatment products for chlorine disinfection, pH adjustment and total alkalinity correction.

The kit contains slow-release chlorine, shock chlorine, pH increaser, pH decreaser and ALKA+ alkalinity increaser. Each product comes in a 1 kg container, providing 5 kg of pool water treatment products in total.

It offers a convenient way to keep different treatments available for routine care and occasional adjustments. Products should be selected according to actual water conditions, not added automatically.

What's included in the kit?

The kit contains five individual products:

  1. Slow-Release Chlorine Tablets 200 g – 1 kg: Slowly dissolving chlorine tablets designed for regular pool disinfection. The 1 kg pack corresponds to five 200 g tablets.

  2. Shock Chlorine Granules – 1 kg: Fast-dissolving chlorine treatment used when an increase in chlorine concentration is needed, such as during pool start-up or when treating green water.

  3. pH Increaser Powder – 1 kg: Raises pool water pH when it is too low.

  4. pH Decreaser Powder – 1 kg: Lowers pool water pH when it is too high.

  5. ALKA+ Total Alkalinity Increaser – 1 kg: Raises total alkalinity (TA) when the measured level is too low, helping improve pH stability.

Each treatment has a different purpose. The products are not intended to be mixed together or used as a single treatment.

Why choose this kit for a pool over 20 m³?

This kit is intended for owners of chlorine-treated swimming pools over 20 m³ who want several types of maintenance products in one purchase.

It covers three complementary areas of pool water care:

  • Routine and occasional disinfection: Slow-release chlorine supports regular maintenance, while shock chlorine can be used when additional disinfection is necessary.

  • pH management: pH increaser and decreaser allow adjustments in either direction, depending on water readings.

  • Alkalinity correction: ALKA+ increases low total alkalinity and helps maintain more stable pH conditions.

A key feature is the 200 g slow-release chlorine tablet format, intended for swimming pools over 20 m³ according to the product instructions.

How does this kit compare with other iopool packs?

The Chlorine Pool Maintenance Kit for pools under 20 m³ also contains five 1 kg products. Its main difference is the use of 20 g slow-release chlorine tablets instead of 200 g tablets.

The XL Chlorine Disinfection Pack for pools over 20 m³ contains 5 kg of slow-release chlorine and 5 kg of shock chlorine. It focuses on disinfection and does not include pH or alkalinity adjustment products.

Choose according to the type of maintenance required and the appropriate product formats for your pool.

Dosage and directions for use

How much of each product should you add?

There is no single dosage for the entire kit. Each product has its own dosing and application instructions.

The amount required depends on pool volume, measured water parameters and the treatment needed. A 1 kg container does not represent one application dose.

For exact quantities and application methods, refer to the individual product pages linked in the kit contents.

How should you use the treatments?

  1. Test your pool water: Check relevant parameters, particularly pH, free chlorine and total alkalinity.

  2. Identify the treatment needed: Determine whether your pool requires regular disinfection, additional chlorine or a water balance correction.

  3. Select the appropriate product: Use only the treatment supported by your water readings.

  4. Follow the product label: Respect its dosage, application method, filtration requirements and safety precautions.

  5. Retest the water: Check the relevant parameters before making another adjustment or allowing swimming to resume.

The five products must not be treated as a single sequence of chemicals to add together.

Safety precautions

Never mix the chemical products together. In particular, do not mix chlorine treatments with pH correction products or other pool chemicals.

Never place different chemical treatments in the same skimmer or dosing device at the same time.

Read the full label for each product before use. Follow the specified handling precautions, wear the required protective equipment and store products in their original containers out of children's reach.

Both chlorine treatments in this kit are stabilised. Monitoring cyanuric acid (CYA) is therefore relevant when they are used repeatedly.

Use biocidal products safely. Always read the label and product information before use.

Maintain your pool with iopool

The iopool app can help you monitor pool water conditions and identify when a treatment may be necessary.

App recommendations complement water testing but do not replace the manufacturer's dosing and safety instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to use all five products?

No. Each treatment serves a specific purpose. Shock chlorine and water balance products should only be used when water conditions require them.

What is the difference between pH+ and pH-?

pH+ increases low pH, while pH- decreases high pH. They are intended for different water conditions and should not be used automatically together.

Will this kit last for an entire swimming season?

There is no guaranteed coverage period. Consumption depends on pool size, water conditions, bathing activity and actual treatment requirements.

Does this kit include a water testing device?

The listed contents consist of five chemical treatments. No connected water analyser or test strips are listed as included.

Can this kit be used in a saltwater or bromine-treated pool?

The kit is intended for chlorine-treated swimming pools. Compatibility with other treatment systems must be checked separately for each product.
