EcO Calibration Kit – pH & ORP Solutions
The iopool EcO Calibration Kit contains three reference solutions designed to calibrate the pH and ORP sensors of your EcO smart water monitor.
Over time, sensor readings may drift. Calibrating your EcO helps adjust these readings against known reference values, supporting more reliable water monitoring and maintenance recommendations in the iopool app.
This is a maintenance consumable for EcO owners, not a pool water treatment product.
Why use the EcO Calibration Kit?
Regular calibration helps maintain the quality of the measurements used to monitor your pool or spa.
The kit allows you to:
-
Adjust pH readings using two reference solutions.
-
Calibrate the ORP sensor against a known redox reference value.
-
Maintain more consistent measurements as your EcO sensors age.
-
Follow an app-guided procedure without specialist calibration equipment.
Calibration can correct sensor drift, but it cannot repair a damaged or worn-out sensor.
Compatibility and requirements
The kit is designed for the pH and ORP sensors of the iopool EcO connected water monitor.
It is used to maintain the analyzer, whether EcO monitors a swimming pool or spa. It is not intended for measuring or treating pool water directly.
To perform calibration, you will need:
-
Your EcO analyzer and the iopool mobile app.
-
A smartphone with Bluetooth and an active internet connection.
-
Clean water for rinsing the sensors.
-
Three clean, narrow containers, or the supplied solution sachets.
Keep your smartphone close to EcO throughout the procedure. A separate cOnnect Wi-Fi gateway is not required.
When should you calibrate your EcO?
At the beginning of a new season: From the second swimming season onward, iopool recommends calibrating EcO at the start of each season.
For year-round use: If your EcO remains in use throughout the year, for example in an indoor pool or spa, annual calibration is recommended.
When sensor readings appear inconsistent: Calibration may help correct sensor drift, but unusual readings can also have other causes. Contact iopool support if you are unsure.
Does a new EcO need to be calibrated?
No. An EcO monitor does not require calibration when it is first received or installed.
Calibration is recommended as part of subsequent maintenance, beginning with the second season, or annually for year-round use.
What's included in the kit?
The EcO Calibration Kit contains three individual 20 ml sachets:
-
1 × pH 4.00 reference solution — 20 ml
-
1 × pH 7.00 reference solution — 20 ml
-
1 × ORP +468 mV reference solution — 20 ml
These solutions are used to calibrate the sensors, not to adjust the water chemistry of your pool or spa.
How to calibrate your EcO
-
Remove EcO from the water, take off its silicone cap and rinse the sensor end with clean water.
-
Enable Bluetooth and internet access on your smartphone. Open the EcO calibration feature in the iopool app.
-
Follow the app's instructions, immersing the sensors in each reference solution as requested. Avoid trapped air bubbles and rinse between solutions.
-
Once calibration is confirmed, return the silicone cap to its normal analysis position and place EcO back in the water.
The app may ask you to repeat certain pH calibration steps. Follow the instructions until the procedure is complete.
For detailed instructions, see the official EcO calibration guide.
Important handling advice
Open the sachets only when you are ready to calibrate. Use the solutions immediately and do not keep opened sachets for another session.
Keep the solutions separate to avoid contamination. Do not pour them into your pool or spa.
If calibration fails repeatedly or readings remain abnormal, seek advice from iopool support before purchasing replacement sensors.
Frequently asked questions
Can the calibration kit test my pool water?
No. The kit contains reference solutions for calibrating EcO's sensors. Pool water parameters that require manual testing should be checked using suitable test strips or other testing equipment.
Can I reuse an opened calibration sachet?
No. Each sachet should be used immediately after opening. Do not store opened solutions for a future calibration session.
Does the kit calibrate temperature or salt measurements?
No. The supplied reference solutions are intended for pH and ORP calibration only. They do not calibrate water temperature or measure salt concentration.
Is the calibration kit included in the EcO Winter Kit?
Yes. The iopool EcO Winter Kit includes a calibration kit for use when preparing EcO for the new season. Check what you already own before ordering separately.
What if my readings are still incorrect after calibration?
Calibration cannot resolve every sensor issue. Check that the sensors are clean and contact iopool support if abnormal readings persist.
