cOnnect – Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Gateway for EcO
cOnnect by iopool is an optional Bluetooth/Wi-Fi gateway that lets you access your EcO water readings and maintenance recommendations from anywhere. It receives data from your EcO analyzer via Bluetooth and relays it through your home Wi-Fi network. Already own an EcO Start or EcO Start Salt? Add cOnnect to enable remote pool or spa monitoring.
Monitor your pool or spa remotely
Without cOnnect, your EcO communicates with your smartphone via Bluetooth. You need to be close enough to your pool or spa to retrieve its latest readings.
With cOnnect, your analyzer's data is automatically transmitted through your home Wi-Fi connection to the iopool servers, making it accessible in the iopool app even when you are away.

Is cOnnect right for you?
cOnnect is particularly useful if you regularly travel, spend time away from home, own a holiday property or simply want to check your pool without going outside.
It is an optional accessory. If you normally check your water while standing near the pool and Bluetooth connectivity meets your needs, your EcO works without cOnnect.
Compatibility and Wi-Fi requirements
cOnnect is compatible with EcO Start and EcO Start Salt. It can be used to relay data from a compatible EcO analyzer monitoring a swimming pool or spa.
To operate correctly, the gateway requires:

A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. It does not support a 5 GHz-only connection.

Bluetooth coverage from EcO. Place cOnnect preferably within 10 metres of the water, limiting obstacles such as walls, shutters and pool covers.

Home Wi-Fi coverage. The gateway must receive a reliable Wi-Fi signal at its installation location.

A sheltered power outlet. Protect the gateway from rain and other weather conditions.
Your Wi-Fi signal does not need to reach EcO directly. cOnnect acts as the bridge between the analyzer's Bluetooth connection and your home network.
How to set up cOnnect

Position and power the gateway near your pool or spa, within range of your Wi-Fi network.

Open the iopool app on your smartphone with Bluetooth enabled.

Go to your pool or spa devices, select Gateway and follow the pairing instructions. Choose your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

Confirm that the gateway is connected. It will then automatically relay available EcO readings.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use cOnnect without an EcO analyzer?
No. cOnnect is a connectivity accessory designed to transmit measurements collected by a compatible EcO analyzer. It does not measure water parameters itself and cannot replace an EcO device.
Do I need cOnnect for EcO Start to work?
No. EcO Start works via Bluetooth when your smartphone is near the pool or spa. cOnnect is only needed if you want your EcO readings to be transmitted automatically through Wi-Fi and accessible remotely.
Does cOnnect work with 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
No. cOnnect requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If your router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, make sure the 2.4 GHz network is available at the gateway's installation location.
Can I use cOnnect with a saltwater pool?
Yes. cOnnect works with EcO Start Salt, the dedicated analyzer for pools using salt electrolysis. The gateway transmits data from the compatible analyzer; it does not measure salt concentration or control the salt chlorinator.
