Salt Test Strips for Pools & Spas – 20 Strips

Check the salt level in your pool or spa with a simple manual test.

iopool Salt Test Strips measure the salinity of saltwater pools and spas from 0 to 8,000 ppm. Ideal for occasional checks, they help you verify your water's salt concentration. You can also manually enter the result in the iopool app to keep track of your water measurements.

Why check the salt level in your pool or spa?

Salt chlorinators need the right salt concentration to operate as intended. Too little or too much salt may affect their performance, depending on the system.

iopool Salt Test Strips are particularly useful when you want to:

  • Check the salt concentration in your pool or spa.

  • Verify salinity after adding salt or replacing part of the water.

  • Perform an occasional manual check alongside your connected water analyzer.

Compare your result with the recommended salt range specified by your salt chlorinator manufacturer.

What makes iopool salt test strips useful?

  • Dedicated salt measurement: Check salinity from 0 to 8,000 ppm (mg/L).

  • 20 tests per bottle: Convenient for occasional checks throughout the pool season.

  • Protective packaging: The strips are foil-packed in groups of five to help preserve unused strips.

  • Manual readings: Check your salt concentration without relying on an automatic sensor.

  • iopool app integration: Manually record the result in the app as part of your pool maintenance routine.

How to use the salt test strips

  1. Take a salt test strip from its protective packaging.

  2. Test your pool or spa water, following the immersion and waiting times specified in the product instructions.

  3. Read the salt concentration using the manufacturer's reference instructions, in ppm.

  4. If you use the iopool app, manually enter the measured value.

Always follow the instructions supplied with the salt test strips, as they may differ from those for standard multi-parameter test strips.

Compatibility with saltwater pools and iopool

These test strips are intended for saltwater swimming pools and spas. They measure salinity manually and can complement the iopool connected water monitoring system.

They are particularly useful alongside EcO Start Salt. This connected analyzer automatically measures pH, ORP and water temperature, but does not directly measure salt concentration.

Salt test strips also serve a different purpose from iopool 6-in-1 test strips, which measure parameters such as pH, chlorine, alkalinity, hardness and stabilizer, rather than salinity.

Frequently asked questions

Does EcO Start Salt measure the salt level?

No. EcO Start Salt automatically measures pH, ORP and water temperature, but not salinity. Salt test strips provide a separate manual measurement of the salt concentration in your pool or spa.

Do I need an EcO analyzer to use these strips?

No EcO measurement is involved in reading the strips. They are designed for manual salt testing. If you use the iopool app, you can manually enter the result to keep track of your water measurements.

Can the iopool app scan these salt test strips automatically?

The integration described for these salt test strips is manual entry. Read the result according to the product instructions, then enter the measured salt concentration in the iopool app. Automatic camera-based scanning is not specified for this product.

What salt level should my pool or spa have?

The recommended salt concentration depends on your salt chlorinator or spa treatment system. Check the manufacturer's instructions for the correct operating range and compare it with your strip reading before making any adjustments.
