EcO Winterizing Kit for Your iopool Monitor
The iopool EcO Winterizing Kit helps protect your EcO monitor during winter storage and prepares it for the next swimming season. It brings together moisture-retaining foam, 6-in-1 test strips and a pH/ORP calibration kit to make seasonal maintenance easier.
Why winterize your EcO monitor?
EcO's sensors must stay moist to function properly. When winter arrives, the monitor should be removed from the water and stored in a protected location, away from freezing temperatures.
The EcO Winterizing Kit makes three essential tasks easier:
-
Protecting your sensors: the foam helps maintain a humid environment inside EcO's bottom cap.
-
Checking your pool water: manual test strips let you monitor water quality while EcO is in winter mode.
-
Preparing for spring: the calibration kit helps maintain reliable pH and ORP readings when you restart your monitor.
Everything is grouped into one convenient seasonal maintenance kit.
What's included in the EcO Winterizing Kit?
-
Moisture-retaining foam: designed for EcO's bottom cap to help keep the sensors wet during storage.
-
iopool 6-in-1 test strips: for manual water testing during active winterizing or before reopening your pool.
-
pH and ORP calibration kit: reference solutions for recalibrating EcO at the beginning of a new season.
The calibration kit is particularly useful from the second season onward, when iopool recommends calibrating EcO at the start of each season.
Compatibility and when to use the kit
The winterizing kit is designed for iopool EcO water monitors equipped with the bottom cap used for storage.
It is particularly useful if you:
-
Remove your EcO from the pool or spa during winter.
-
Follow active winterizing and want to check water quality manually.
-
Want to prepare your monitor for the next swimming season.
The foam and calibration solutions are accessories for your EcO monitor. The test strips provide a complementary way to test pool water.
The kit is not a chemical winterizing treatment for your swimming pool.
The iopool app is required to activate EcO's winter mode and perform calibration. Your smartphone must have an internet connection and Bluetooth enabled during these procedures.
How to winterize EcO with the kit
-
Remove EcO from the water before the temperature drops below 4°C (39°F). Keep its sensors moist throughout the process.
-
Activate winter mode in the iopool app under My Pool > Devices > EcO, following the on-screen instructions.
-
Prepare the bottom cap by soaking the foam in water and placing it inside. Close the cap in its storage position, keeping the sensors moist as instructed by iopool.
-
Store EcO upright in a sheltered, frost-free location.
-
Prepare for the new season: use the test strips for manual water checks when needed, then follow the app instructions to reactivate and calibrate EcO at the appropriate time.

Frequently asked questions
Is the EcO Winterizing Kit mandatory?
No. EcO can be stored with its bottom cap closed and a small amount of water inside, following iopool's official winterizing instructions. The kit is a convenient way to help keep the sensors moist, check pool water manually and prepare for calibration when the swimming season resumes.
When should I remove EcO from the water for winter?
EcO must not remain in water below 4°C (39°F). iopool recommends removing and storing the monitor during winter, even if you use active winterizing for your pool. Always keep the sensors moist and store EcO upright in a protected, frost-free location.
Can I use the test strips while EcO is in winter mode?
Yes. During active winterizing, you can use the iopool test strips to check your pool water manually. The iopool app allows you to record a test approximately once a month and receive treatment recommendations, even while your EcO monitor is stored away from the pool.
When should I calibrate EcO after winter?
EcO does not require calibration before its first use. From the second season onward, iopool recommends calibrating the pH and ORP sensors at the beginning of each swimming season. The calibration kit included in the winterizing kit provides the reference solutions needed for this procedure.
