EcO V2 Replacement Sensors and Battery: Everything You Need to Know
Is your EcO V2 no longer sending reliable measurements? Are your pH or ORP values still inconsistent after calibration? Or has your probe stopped beeping entirely, even when using a magnet?
Good news: the EcO V2 was designed to be repairable. Unlike previous generations, it can be opened so that its two main components — the sensors and the battery — can be replaced.
In this article, we’ll help you understand when to replace the sensors, when to replace the battery, and when it may be better to choose the complete Sensors + Battery Kit.
Is the EcO V2 compatible with replacement parts?
Yes. The EcO V2 was specifically designed to be opened and to allow the replacement of its main internal components.
You can replace:
- the sensors: pH, ORP and temperature;
- the battery.
This feature is exclusive to the EcO V2. Older EcO probes, which cannot be opened, are unfortunately not compatible with these replacement parts.
I have an older EcO probe. Can I still use replacement parts?
Unfortunately, no. The replacement parts available in our store are only compatible with the EcO V2.
If you own an older generation EcO probe, you cannot replace only the battery or the sensors.
However, we do not want to penalize users of previous EcO models. That is why we offer a “V1 to V2” replacement option at a special price, allowing you to upgrade to the newer EcO V2 generation.

My probe is still under warranty. Do I need to buy replacement parts?
No. If your EcO probe is still under warranty, you do not need to purchase replacement parts.
The EcO comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. During this period, any component replacement related to a malfunction is covered by iopool, at no cost to you.
In this case, simply contact our customer support team. Our agents will analyze your situation, open a support case if needed, and arrange the shipment of the appropriate replacement material.
The replacement parts available in our store are mainly intended for out-of-warranty probes.
How do I know if my sensors are faulty?
Sensors can wear out over time, as they remain permanently immersed in water and are continuously exposed to the pool’s chemistry.
The most common signs of worn-out or damaged sensors are:
- abnormal measurements that persist despite a correctly performed calibration;
- one or more sensors that are visibly physically damaged;
- pH, ORP or temperature values that remain inconsistent over time.
Please note: these signs are indicators, not a guaranteed diagnosis.
Incorrect measurements can also be caused by an improperly performed calibration, an imbalance in the water chemistry, or another external factor. If you are unsure, we recommend contacting our customer support team before purchasing replacement parts.
How do I know if the battery is faulty?
The most typical sign of a battery reaching the end of its life is the following:
the probe no longer sends any measurements and no longer beeps, even when a magnet is passed over it.
This may indicate that the battery is no longer powering the device correctly.
However, this symptom should still be interpreted with caution: a silent probe may also be caused by something other than a faulty battery. Before reaching a conclusion, make sure the probe has remained permanently immersed and that no other obvious factor could be involved.
Sensors or battery: how can I be sure which component needs replacing?
This is often the most difficult part.
Diagnosing a connected probe can be complex, because some symptoms can look very similar. No measurements, inconsistent values or a probe that no longer reacts do not always make it possible to immediately identify which component is responsible.
Here is what we recommend:

Our team can ask you a few additional questions, analyze the situation remotely and help refine the diagnosis. We may not always be able to identify the cause with absolute certainty, but we will always do our best to guide you properly. -
If the doubt remains, choose the Sensors + Battery Kit
This kit allows you to replace the two main components of your analyzer. It is the most complete solution to restore your EcO V2 and regain reliable measurements throughout the year.
Which replacement products are available?
Three references are available in our store for out-of-warranty EcO V2 probes:
1. EcO Replacement Sensors
This kit includes the full sensor set required for your probe to function properly:
- pH sensor;
- ORP sensor;
- temperature sensor.
It is recommended if your probe still works, but the measurements remain inconsistent despite a correctly performed calibration.
2. EcO Replacement Battery
This battery is compatible with the EcO V2.
It is recommended if your probe no longer sends any measurements and no longer reacts, especially if it no longer beeps when using a magnet.
3. EcO Sensors + Battery Kit
This kit includes both main components:
- replacement sensors;
- replacement battery.
It is the most complete option, offered at a special price, especially if you are unsure whether the issue comes only from the sensors or only from the battery.
Is the installation difficult?
No. The EcO V2 was designed to be accessible to everyone.
Replacing the sensors or the battery can be done at home by following the steps provided in our installation guides. Step-by-step video tutorials are also available below to guide you through the process.

Can I damage my probe by replacing the components myself?
The replacement is safe as long as you follow the provided guide carefully.
To avoid any issue, make sure to:
- avoid forcing anything when opening the probe or removing components;
- follow the steps in the correct order;
- handle all parts carefully;
- close the probe properly after the intervention;
- check that everything is correctly positioned before placing the probe back in the water.
If you are unsure during the installation, do not force anything. Contact our customer support team — we are here to help.
